Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Seated Woman sight size 20 x 24 in. (50.8 x 61.0 cm) framed 29 1/2 x 34 1/2 x 1 3/4 in. by Francisco Zúñiga was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts in November this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,280.00 (€ 1,173.45). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francisco Zúñiga achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Grupo de cuatro mujeres de pie in May 2017 with an auction result of USD 3,127,500.00 (€ 2,783,463.87).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Seated Woman sight size 20 x 24 in. (50.8 x 61.0 cm) framed 29 1/2 x 34 1/2 x 1 3/4 in. von Francisco Zúñiga im November diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.280,00 (€ 1.173,45) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francisco Zúñiga erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Grupo de cuatro mujeres de pie im Mai 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 3.127.500,00 (€ 2.783.463,87).
