Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2012 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Study of a State Trumpeter (illustrated); and Portrait of Field Marshal Lord Beechwood by Frank Owen Salisbury. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 934.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Owen Salisbury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sen Sisters in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 96,000.00 (€ 140,887.05).
