Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in London held the auction Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Magnolia (grown & painted by the artist) by Frank Owen Salisbury. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,100.00 (€ 1,244.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Owen Salisbury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sen Sisters in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 96,000.00 (€ 140,887.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian & British Impressionist Pictures Including Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Magnolia (grown & painted by the artist) von Frank Owen Salisbury zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.100,00 (€ 1.244,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Owen Salisbury erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sen Sisters im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.000,00 (€ 140.887,05).
