Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Moses on Mount Sinai by Frank Owen Salisbury was sold in the Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures auction at Christies in London in September 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 750.00 (€ 1,075.44) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Frank Owen Salisbury achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sen Sisters in September 2005 with an auction result of GBP 96,000.00 (€ 140,887.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Moses on Mount Sinai von Frank Owen Salisbury wurde im September 2007 in der Auktion Victorian & Traditionalist Pictures bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 750,00 (€ 1.075,44) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Frank Owen Salisbury erzielen.
