This artwork by Francis Montanier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in May 2006. In the Une Maison par Eugène Printz auction, the work 'Barques Et Cabestan' sold for EUR 2,640.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francis Montanier; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Chichaoua', 1972 sold at auction in May 2006 with the realized price of EUR 2,880.00.
