Despite a disappointment, a good price for Francis de Erdelyi
When the work New York City Scene by Francis de Erdelyi was auctioned at Bonhams in New York in July 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,624.34). Despite this disappointing result, New York City Scene is the most expensive artwork by Francis de Erdelyi that we have observed at auction so far.
Trotz Enttäuschung ein guter Preis für Francis de Erdelyi
Als die Arbeit New York City Scene von Francis de Erdelyi im Juli 2020 bei Bonhams in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.624,34) den Besitzer. Trotz dieses enttäuschenden Ergebnisses ist New York City Scene das teuerste Kunstwerk von Francis de Erdelyi, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
