Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study of a nude by Francis Chapin was auctioned at Christies in New York in September 2006. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,440.00 (€ 1,135.02) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by Francis Chapin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pink House in March last year with an auction result of USD 9,450.00 (€ 8,518.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Study of a nude von Francis Chapin kam im September 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.440,00 (€ 1.135,02) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Francis Chapin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pink House im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.450,00 (€ 8.518,89).
