In March 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction The Political Cartoon Collection of Jeffrey Archer, which included the work The Commons Cart by Francis Carruthers Gould. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 525.00 (€ 597.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Francis Carruthers Gould have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2018 the work He Returns To Town was auctioned for GBP 625.00 (€ 711.60).
