Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November last year Christies in London held the auction Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The London No Reserve Edit, which included the work Ghetto Collector by Francis Alÿs. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,764.00 (€ 2,044.07), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francis Alÿs achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study For The Last Clown in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 288,000.00 (€ 427,377.51).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Le Jeune, A Collecting Legacy: The London No Reserve Edit durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ghetto Collector von Francis Alÿs zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.764,00 (€ 2.044,07) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francis Alÿs erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study For The Last Clown im Juni 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 288.000,00 (€ 427.377,51).
