Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 62,500.00 (€ 88,604.01). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Zuccarelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Rape of Europa, which sold at auction in May 2000 for USD 171,000.00 (€ 183,319.04).
