In April 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Two Milkmaids And A Young Boy, With A Cow And Sheep, Resting By A Tree, With A Monastery Behind And A Town In The Distance; Three Female Figures And A Young Boy With A Goat By A Waterfall, With A Mountainous Landscape In The Distance by Francesco Zuccarelli. The price achieved of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 30,359.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Admittedly, works by Francesco Zuccarelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Rape of Europa in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 171,000.00 (€ 183,319.04).
