This work of art by Francesco Zuccarelli could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction, the work A Wooded Landscape With Washerwomen By A River, A Pedlar On A Path Nearby, A Town And Hills Beyond changed hands for GBP 98,500.00 (€ 133,758.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. Other works by Francesco Zuccarelli have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in May 2000 by the work The Rape of Europa at USD 171,000.00 (€ 183,319.04).
