Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2018 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Semiramis Called To Arms by Francesco Rosa. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 11,250.00 (€ 12,810.73) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Francesco Rosa - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alexander der Große betrauert den toten Dareios III. (330 v. Chr. bei Hekatompylos)., which sold at auction in June 2016 for EUR 37,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2018 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Semiramis Called To Arms von Francesco Rosa zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 11.250,00 (€ 12.810,73) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Francesco Rosa mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alexander der Große betrauert den toten Dareios III. (330 v. Chr. bei Hekatompylos). beobachtet, die im Juni 2016 für EUR 37.500,00 versteigert wurde.
