Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Volto di contadina abruzzese by Francesco Paolo Michetti was sold in the Old Master Pictures auction at Christies in Milan in November 2011. The price achieved of EUR 3,900.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Paolo Michetti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bimba Al Sole (1870-1875) in June 2001 with an auction result of EUR 147,000.00.
