In July 2000 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES, which included the work A Cavalry battle near a tower by Francesco Monti. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,750.00 (€ 18,999.60), 68% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Francesco Monti; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Achille Trascina Il Corpo Di Ettore sold at auction in November 2010 with the realized price of EUR 34,350.00.

Im Juli 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Cavalry battle near a tower von Francesco Monti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 11.750,00 (€ 18.999,60) und damit 68% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Francesco Monti; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Achille Trascina Il Corpo Di Ettore im November 2010 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 34.350,00.
