In December 2020 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master Sculpture and Works of Art, which included the work Relief with Christ Carrying the Cross by Francesco Fanelli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,900.00 (€ 21,112.98), 58% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Relief with Christ Carrying the Cross the most expensive artwork by Francesco Fanelli that we have observed at auctions so far.
