In April 2000 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings at CSK, which included the work A battle outside a city by Francesco Casanova. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,350.00 (€ 4,023.10), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Francesco Casanova achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A stormy landscape with a horseman and a woman riding an ox, by a river; A stormy landscape with a wagon and horses bolting into a river in April 2000 with an auction result of GBP 44,650.00 (€ 76,438.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im April 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings at CSK durch, in der auch die Arbeit A battle outside a city von Francesco Casanova zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.350,00 (€ 4.023,10) und damit 18% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Francesco Casanova erzielen.
