In October 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Photographs, which included the work Untitled (Capsized) by Florian Maier-Aichen. The »bidding war« ended at USD 18,900.00 (€ 16,227.35), 58% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Florian Maier-Aichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Mulholland) in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 170,308.48).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Capsized) von Florian Maier-Aichen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 18.900,00 (€ 16.227,35) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Florian Maier-Aichen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Mulholland) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 265.000,00 (€ 170.308,48).
