Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work The Broken Sculpture by Florian Maier-Aichen was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,512.00 (€ 1,308.86). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Florian Maier-Aichen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Mulholland) in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 265,000.00 (€ 170,308.48).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit The Broken Sculpture von Florian Maier-Aichen im Oktober 2021 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.512,00 (€ 1.308,86) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Florian Maier-Aichen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Mulholland) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 265.000,00 (€ 170.308,48).
