Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Frontispiece for Autobiography of a Tomboy, a study by Florence Scovel Shinn for USD 300.00 (€ 243.31). This price was achieved in the auction THE HOUSE SALE at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Other works by Florence Scovel Shinn have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in August 2005 by the work Those more needy at USD 600.00 (€ 486.62).
