Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Architectural Study Of The Interior Of A Church by Filippo Juvarra was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2013, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,688.00 (€ 3,451.12). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Filippo Juvarra - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Architectural Fantasy: A Set Design, Possibly For The Opera "Giunio Bruto", which sold at auction in January 2020 for USD 12,500.00 (€ 11,268.37).
