Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART INCLUDING OTTOMANS & ORIENTALISTS, which included the work The carpet seller by Filippo Bartolini. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,755.00 (€ 16,635.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Filippo Bartolini have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2009 the work Italian The Negotiation was auctioned for USD 31,250.00 (€ 23,595.59).
