Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Sunbathers on Main Beach, Laguna by Filastro Mottola was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in December 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,912.50 (€ 1,563.78). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Filastro Mottola - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Summer afternoon on Laguna Beach, which sold at auction in April 2019 for USD 6,325.00 (€ 5,646.82).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Sunbathers on Main Beach, Laguna von Filastro Mottola im Dezember 2020 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.912,50 (€ 1.563,78) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Filastro Mottola mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Summer afternoon on Laguna Beach beobachtet, die im April 2019 für USD 6.325,00 (€ 5.646,82) versteigert wurde.
