Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abendliche Landschaft. by Ferdinand Knab was auctioned at Grisebach in November 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 3,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ferdinand Knab achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roman Ruin At Twilight in June 2020 with an auction result of USD 56,250.00 (€ 50,084.59).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Abendliche Landschaft. von Ferdinand Knab im November 2015 bei Grisebach versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 3.500,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Knab erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Roman Ruin At Twilight im Juni 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 56.250,00 (€ 50.084,59).
