Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work A Landscape In The Prater, Vienna by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller. It changed hands for a price of GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,423.64) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Red and white grapes and silver tableware on a marble ledge in July 2010 with an auction result of GBP 301,250.00 (€ 362,219.18).
