This artwork by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2012. In the 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Art auction, the work Young lady in a white dress sold for GBP 79,250.00 (€ 97,627.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 35,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Red and white grapes and silver tableware on a marble ledge, which sold at auction in July 2010 for GBP 301,250.00 (€ 362,219.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller erzielte im November 2012 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Art wurde die Arbeit Young lady in a white dress für GBP 79.250,00 (€ 97.627,96) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 35.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Red and white grapes and silver tableware on a marble ledge beobachtet, die im Juli 2010 für GBP 301.250,00 (€ 362.219,18) versteigert wurde.
