Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2014 Sothebys in London held the auction 19th Century European Paintings, which included the work Austrian Wildbad Gastein (The Wildbad Gastein Falls) by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 164,500.00 (€ 202,175.81) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2010 the work Red and white grapes and silver tableware on a marble ledge was auctioned for GBP 301,250.00 (€ 362,219.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2014 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 19th Century European Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Austrian Wildbad Gastein (The Wildbad Gastein Falls) von Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 150.000,00 – 250.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 164.500,00 (€ 202.175,81) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Ferdinand Georg Waldmüller konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli 2010 die Arbeit Red and white grapes and silver tableware on a marble ledge für GBP 301.250,00 (€ 362.219,18) versteigert.
