Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait D'Homme Au Chapeau by Fernand Cormon for EUR 2,500.00. This price was achieved in the auction 19th Century Paintings and Drawings at Sothebys in Paris and was even below the estimate range of EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fernand Cormon achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Still Life With Coffee Service And Hookah in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 26,900.00 (€ 34,217.98).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2008 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait D'Homme Au Chapeau von Fernand Cormon für EUR 2.500,00 erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 19th Century Paintings and Drawings bei Sothebys in Paris erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fernand Cormon erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit French Still Life With Coffee Service And Hookah im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 26.900,00 (€ 34.217,98).
