Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Felipe Benito Archuleta could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Beyond Imagination: Outsider and Vernacular Art Featuring the Collection of Marjorie and Harvey Freed auction, the work Ostrich, 1980 changed hands for USD 4,375.00 (€ 3,520.28) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 10,000.00. Admittedly, works by Felipe Benito Archuleta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Porcupine, 1976 in January 2019 with an auction result of USD 21,250.00 (€ 18,552.47).
