The »bidding war« ended at USD 25,500.00 (€ 23,762.93), 42% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Fairfield Porter achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Schooner II in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 1,932,500.00 (€ 1,655,955.44).

Die Arbeit Cove Bridge 12 x 18 in. (30.5 x 45.7 cm.) von Fairfield Porter wurde im Mai letzten Jahres in der Auktion American Art bei Bonhams in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 25.500,00 (€ 23.762,93) und damit 42% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Fairfield Porter erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Schooner II im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.932.500,00 (€ 1.655.955,44).
