Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES, which included the work A castle on the banks of a Scottish loch, thought to be Loch Lomond by Francis E. Jamieson. The price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 644.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Other works by Francis E. Jamieson have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in January 2004 the work A Cottage By A Highland Loch, The Trossacks; And Another Similar, Argyllshire was auctioned for GBP 470.00 (€ 687.52).
