EUGENE VON BRUENCHENHEIN (1910-1983) Untitled, c. 1940s four gelatin silver prints each variously annotated in pencil (verso) image sizes range from 3 1 ⁄ 8 x 2 1 ⁄ 8 in. (7.9 x 5.3 cm.) to 9 1 ⁄ 4 x 7 1 ⁄ 4 in. (23.4 x 18.4 cm.) sheet sizes range from 3 1 ⁄ 2 x 2 1 ⁄ 2 in. (8.8 x 6.3 cm.) to 10 x 8 in. (25.4 x 20.3 cm.)
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled, c. 1940s by Eugene Von Bruenchenhein was auctioned at Christies in London in October this year. The price achieved of USD 3,528.00 (€ 3,338.38) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene Von Bruenchenhein achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Selected Portraits Of Marie in April 2018 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 49,693.56).

Die Arbeit Untitled, c. 1940s von Eugene Von Bruenchenhein kam im Oktober diesen Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.528,00 (€ 3.338,38) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugene Von Bruenchenhein erzielen.
