In June 2012 Artcurial held the auction Prints and Illustrated Books, which included the work L'Enfance De L'Art, 1970 by Eugène Ionesco. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 257.00 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Eugène Ionesco have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 2 Bll.: Petits Nains. 1986. Blancs et Noirs. 1986. in June 2015 with an auction result of CHF 2,500.00 (€ 2,398.02).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2012 führte Artcurial die Auktion Prints and Illustrated Books durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'Enfance De L'Art, 1970 von Eugène Ionesco zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 257,00 und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eugène Ionesco auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit 2 Bll.: Petits Nains. 1986. Blancs et Noirs. 1986. im Juni 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 2.500,00 (€ 2.398,02).
