Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2009 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures, which included the work A summer-bouquet with poppies and daisies by Eugène Henri Cauchois. It changed hands for a price of EUR 4,375.00 achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of EUR 3,500.00 – 4,400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Eugène Henri Cauchois - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Roses in a basket, which sold at auction in April 2001 for NLG 32,900.00 (€ 15,100.48).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2009 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Nineteen to Now, art from the 19th, 20th & 21st centuries, including Topographical Observations, African and Indonesian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A summer-bouquet with poppies and daisies von Eugène Henri Cauchois zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von EUR 4.375,00 den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 3.500,00 – 4.400,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Eugène Henri Cauchois mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Roses in a basket beobachtet, die im April 2001 für NLG 32.900,00 (€ 15.100,48) versteigert wurde.
