Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lobster with champagne and oysters on a ledge; and Fish with cabbages on a ledge by Eugène Frey was sold in the 19th Century European Art auction at Christies in London in September 2014. It achieved a price of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,706.68), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 20%. Admittedly, works by Eugène Frey have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Les bords de la Seine à Paris in February 2012 with an auction result of GBP 30,000.00 (€ 35,820.79).

Die Arbeit Lobster with champagne and oysters on a ledge; and Fish with cabbages on a ledge von Eugène Frey wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion 19th Century European Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.706,68) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 20%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Eugène Frey auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Les bords de la Seine à Paris im Februar 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 30.000,00 (€ 35.820,79).
