Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of Laurence Davidson And His Three Sons by Eugène Devéria was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,976.02). Other works by Eugène Devéria have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2013 by the work Portrait Of Laurence Davidson And His Three Sons, Three-Quarter Length, Standing By Ruins, His Sons Seated Around Him, One Holding A Fishing Rod, The Other Holding A Cricket Bat at GBP 88,900.00 (€ 106,932.91).
Andere Arbeiten von Eugène Devéria wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2013 die Arbeit Portrait Of Laurence Davidson And His Three Sons, Three-Quarter Length, Standing By Ruins, His Sons Seated Around Him, One Holding A Fishing Rod, The Other Holding A Cricket Bat mit GBP 88.900,00 (€ 106.932,91).
