A top price for Eugène Durieu
In October 2017 Christies in New York held the auction Visionaries: Photographs from the Emily and Jerry Spiegel Collection, which included the work Model Posed by Delacroix, 1853–1854 by Eugène Durieu. The »bidding war« ended at USD 22,500.00 (€ 19,316.62), 50% above the upper estimate. This high result makes Model Posed by Delacroix, 1853–1854 the most expensive artwork by Eugène Durieu that we have observed at auctions so far.
