Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Eugene Deveria could be acquired at Christies in New York in September 2006 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The House Sale auction, the work Study for Puget presenting the group of Milo of Cortona to Louis XIV in the Gardens of Versailles changed hands for USD 1,200.00 (€ 945.85) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugene Deveria achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Reluctant Scholars- Portraits of Mr. G. Barber's Sons in October 2016 with an auction result of USD 52,500.00 (€ 47,892.72).
In der Auktion The House Sale wechselte die Arbeit Study for Puget presenting the group of Milo of Cortona to Louis XIV in the Gardens of Versailles für USD 1.200,00 (€ 945,85) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00.
