Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art, which included the work Verschrikt Kind (Scared Child) by Eugène Brands. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 6,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 6,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Eugène Brands achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Wandelen (Promenade in the Village) in November 2019 with an auction result of EUR 150,000.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2016 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Verschrikt Kind (Scared Child) von Eugène Brands zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 6.250,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Eugène Brands erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Wandelen (Promenade in the Village) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 150.000,00.
