Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Figures by an oasis by Etienne Duval was sold in the 19th Century European & Orientalist Art auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,015.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Etienne Duval have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in September 2011 the work Weite italienische Landschaft mit ruhender Familie im Vordergrund. was auctioned for CHF 24,000.00 (€ 19,722.51).
