In December 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective, which included the work Hungarian tondo I Allegro And Three Abstract Compositions by István (Etienne) Beöthy. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 3,750.00 (€ 5,092.32), 50% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by István (Etienne) Beöthy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Monument pour aviateur, Op. 48, which sold at auction in June 2008 for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 18,960.50).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century Art – A Different Perspective durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hungarian tondo I Allegro And Three Abstract Compositions von István (Etienne) Beöthy zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 3.750,00 (€ 5.092,32) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von István (Etienne) Beöthy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Monument pour aviateur, Op. 48 beobachtet, die im Juni 2008 für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 18.960,50) versteigert wurde.
