This artwork by Esther Mahlangu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Artcurial in December this year. In the Twenty One Contemporary auction, the work Ndebele abstract - 2010 sold for EUR 9,446.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 5,000.00. Admittedly, works by Esther Mahlangu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Ndebele Abstract in July this year with an auction result of GBP 50,400.00 (€ 58,801.52).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 89 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Esther Mahlangu erzielte im Dezember diesen Jahres bei Artcurial einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Twenty One Contemporary wurde die Arbeit Ndebele abstract - 2010 für EUR 9.446,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Esther Mahlangu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Ndebele Abstract im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 50.400,00 (€ 58.801,52).
