This artwork by Ernie Barnes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May this year. In the 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale auction, the work Bronco Locker Room sold for HKD 3,780,000.00 (€ 453,074.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 2,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ernie Barnes achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Sugar Shack in May last year with an auction result of USD 15,275,000.00 (€ 14,234,460.91).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ernie Barnes erzielte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Bronco Locker Room für HKD 3.780.000,00 (€ 453.074,90) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 2.000.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ernie Barnes erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Sugar Shack im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275.000,00 (€ 14.234.460,91).
