In March this year Bonhams held the auction Discovery Sale Online, which included the work Opressivo (unframed) by Ernesto Shikhani. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,295.00 (€ 2,611.01), 53% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernesto Shikhani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mozambican A Chave De Papa Para Afrika (The Popes Key For Afrika), which sold at auction in April 2019 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,724.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 53 % übertroffen
Im März diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Discovery Sale Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Opressivo (unframed) von Ernesto Shikhani zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.295,00 (€ 2.611,01) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernesto Shikhani mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mozambican A Chave De Papa Para Afrika (The Popes Key For Afrika) beobachtet, die im April 2019 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.724,67) versteigert wurde.
