Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Flower Basket; Sewing In The Garden by Ernest Walbourn was sold in the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,800.00 (€ 7,129.11), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ernest Walbourn - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Feeding the ducks, which sold at auction in November 2007 for GBP 14,900.00 (€ 20,863.85).

Die Arbeit The Flower Basket; Sewing In The Garden von Ernest Walbourn wurde im Juli 2007 in der Auktion British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings bei Sothebys in Olympia versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.800,00 (€ 7.129,11) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ernest Walbourn mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Feeding the ducks beobachtet, die im November 2007 für GBP 14.900,00 (€ 20.863,85) versteigert wurde.
