In September 2006 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work Winter Light by Ernest Albert. The »bidding war« ended at USD 10,800.00 (€ 8,512.65), 35% above the upper estimate. With this result, Winter Light is even the most expensive work of art by Ernest Albert that we have observed at auctions so far.
