Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Symphonic Variations II (Sibley & Dowell) by Enzo Plazzotta was auctioned at Christies in New York in February 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,000.00 (€ 2,760.40). Admittedly, works by Enzo Plazzotta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Downfall in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,347.91).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Symphonic Variations II (Sibley & Dowell) von Enzo Plazzotta im Februar 2016 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.000,00 (€ 2.760,40) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Enzo Plazzotta auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Downfall im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.347,91).
