Auction result misses estimated price range
In June 2003 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of Marguerite Ince, aged six, half-length by Emma Sandys for GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,545.55). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH ART ON PAPER at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emma Sandys achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Mary Emma Jones, bust-length, wearing a pearl necklace in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 62,500.00 (€ 70,076.24).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Juni 2003 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of Marguerite Ince, aged six, half-length von Emma Sandys für GBP 1.075,50 (€ 1.545,55) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BRITISH ART ON PAPER bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emma Sandys erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of Mary Emma Jones, bust-length, wearing a pearl necklace im Juli 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 62.500,00 (€ 70.076,24).
