Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mist Kalmpthout by Emile Wauters was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in January 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 300.00 – 500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 24.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Emile Wauters achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Head of a bearded Italian in September 2005 with an auction result of EUR 7,200.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Mist Kalmpthout von Emile Wauters im Januar 2005 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 300,00 – 500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 24,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Emile Wauters erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Head of a bearded Italian im September 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 7.200,00.
