Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Émile Renouf could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in June 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work After A Squall changed hands for USD 4,688.00 (€ 2,976.89) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Émile Renouf achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work French Un Coup De Main (The Helping Hand) in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 615,000.00 (€ 526,992.29).
